Beatrix Potter's Home and Gardens

Loved by so many, Beatrix Potter's life works will live forever........

Views across Lake Windemere

It is a long journey from anywhere
to this beautiful lake.

Long bus ride, open topped bus, boat
and a moutain goat bus!

Idyllic setting to
 get inspiration from!

Lovely trip by boat across Lake Windemere.
You can feel Beatrix's passage by retracing her
footsteps by land, water and road.                                                          Calm waters on the lake

Family of swans wanted to follow the boat
We didn't row across but may be
Beatrix Potter did!
Almost there!
It felt like I was entering another world
up here. Tranquility all around.

she left to them.

The entrance to Hill Top Farm
She was often photographed here in the doorway.

A perfect cottage Garden
Beatrix Potter was a dedicated Gardener
an Artist and a Farmer

The sun was shining and it was perfect
The Garden was full of colour, plants perfectly balanced against each other

This is part of the Village of Sawrey

Such a perfect, quaint place,
so quiet and perfect for
writing.
I can see Beatrix Potter here,
befriending the locals

Beatrix used some of the houses in the Village as the
basis of her books.

This Plaque is in the Village of Sawrey

When you arrive at the Village of Sawrey
you feel at one with nature. It is so peaceful
and are transported to another world.
It is easy to see why Beatrix Potter loved
being here.

Part of Beatrix's Veggie Garden

It feels like there are no worries,
few people
around apart from the visitors
like me
seeing just how Beatrix Potter lived.

This is part of an
out house to the left
of her property.
Beautiful colour
all around.

Summer colours to inpire her!

Don't you love this Character?
